In compliance with the FBI's CJIS security policy, the SBI will implement changes to the DCI network password structure and expiration. Effective August 1, 2007, the following changes will go into effect regarding DCI passwords:

1. Passwords will continue to be a mandatory six-character format, but must also contain at least one letter, one number, and at least one special character.
• Special characters that are allowed include the following: , ? > ; : ' ! @ # $ % ^ * ( ) + = { } [ ] \ ~ `
• Do not use period, forward slash(/), less than (<), underscore (_), or ampersand (&) in password.
• Passwords cannot be the same as a user id in any case.
2. Passwords will expire every 60 days. Users of a mobile or MCT DCI interface will not receive any password change prompt.
