eCitation 5.2.2
**This new version update (which contains changes for the new "raise the age" legislation effective 12/1/19) must be manually upgraded. If you are not running v5.2.2, you must bring your MDC to EIS for the upgrade.**
Highlights of this new release include the following:
- For an offense committed on or after 12/1/2019, eCitation will no longer allow a defendant who was 16 or 17 years old at the time of offense to be charged as an adult unless the offense was a Chapter 20 offense.
- Note that eCitation will not make an exception for juveniles who fall into adult criminal jurisdiction by virtue of having a prior criminal conviction in District or Superior Court per G.S. 7B-1604(b). These offenders' adult criminal charges must be filed on paper.
